QA Inspector (Coating)

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Job Title: QA Inspector (Coating

2. Report to: Quality Engineer

3. Working Location: Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City).

II. SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

• To ensure the quality, compliance, and integrity of all coating activities by overseeing inspection processes, verifying adherence to industry standards and project specifications, and maintaining accurate documentation.

• This role supports the successful execution of surface preparation and coating applications through technical oversight, coordination with project teams, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance

1. Monitor and verify that all coating materials and application processes meet the required standards and specifications.

2. Identify and report any non-conformities, defects, or deviations from project specifications.

3. Recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.

4. Compliance with the internal Working Instruction, SOPs….

5. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all coating activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and project documentation (e.g., NACE, SSPC, ISO, ASTM, ITP).

6. Monitoring the status of the Coating Measuring equipments to make sure they are be valid calibrated and best condition.

Inspection and Testing

1. Inspection coating incoming materials such as: Paint, Solvent, Abrasive…

2. Monitoring Blasting & Coating process including ambient condition, blasting & coating materials…

3. Conduct coating inspections such as: surface preparation, during and after coating application to ensure compliance with project specifications, including roughness, thickness, and curing….

4. Use various inspection tools and equipment, such as DFT gauges, Bresle Salt Kit, Dust tape, Profile replica tape and environmental monitors.

5. Witness inspection with the Clients or/and Third party.

6. Monitoring final product packaging process

7. Other inspection & test task assign by Quality Engineer/ Manager

Documentation and Reporting

1. Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including photographs, reports, and test data.

2. Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Quality engineer / Manager

3. Ensure all documentation complies with project requirements and industry standards.

Coordination and Communication

1. Liaise with QA engineer and project team to coordinate inspection activities and resolve any issues.

2. Provide technical guidance and support to coating team and other personnel.

Safety and Environmental Compliance

1. Ensure all coating activities are conducted in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.

2. Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

IV. ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• College diploma or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical) or related fields.

• At least 2-3 years of work experience in an equivalent position

• Has participated in training courses on surface preparation and painting conducted by centers or individuals certified by NACE 2/ FROSIO 3/ B-GAS level 2-3 (preferred but not always required)

• Knowledge of coating materials, surface preparation, and industry standards.

• Good knowledge about blasting & painting and linning process

• Proficiency in using coating inspection tools like DFT gauges, hygrometers, and adhesion testers….

• Ability to read and understand technical documents, standards, and specifications technical drawings

• Good health, no paint allergy, dynamic, careful.

• Good English & Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
