QC Engineer / Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Global Sourcing Services (GSS) is an international manufacturing and sourcing company specializing in fabricated metal and engineered products.We are seeking a QC Engineer/Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Vietnam team.

This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality across several supplier factories. The successful candidate will spend a large portion of their time on-site at manufacturing partners factories, inspecting products, identifying issues, and ensuring that all orders meet GSS’s strict quality standards.

The role focuses primarily on sheet metal fabrication, welded assemblies, and precision components that must meet Australian or EU/American standards. Primary Responsibilities

• QC Inspections: Conduct independent inspections of sheet metal fabrication, machining, plastics, and other products following GSS QC procedures. Ensure all goods meet required specifications and quality standards prior to shipment.

• On-Site Source Inspection: Perform product inspections at multiple supplier factories according to GSS’s standard procedures.

• Reporting: Prepare clear and professional inspection reports, including photos, measurements, and defect documentation.

• Documentation Management: Maintain complete and accurate QC documentation and submit reports promptly to Vietnam-based Project Managers.

• Supplier Collaboration: Communicate directly with supplier QC and production teams to address defects, corrective actions, and process improvements.

• Daily Communication: Maintain regular communication with GSS Project Managers via Zalo and WhatsApp, providing real-time updates from factories — including both positive progress and any defects or issues identified during inspection.

• Re-inspection: Verify corrective actions by rechecking previously rejected batches to ensure compliance and improvement.

• Testing Knowledge & Support:

o Apply appropriate advanced QC tools (e.g. welding gauge, height gauge, coating thickness meter).

o Conduct or assist with NDT, particle testing, salt spray, heat treatment, and functional tests when required (GSS will support 3rd party training).

o Support external lab testing and validation when required.

o Knowledge of surface treatment inspection (powder coating thickness, galvanization quality, anodizing, etc.).

• Regional Support: Participate in inspection or audit activities across other factories in Vietnam as needed.

• Other Tasks: Carry out additional duties as required by the company and team members within GSS.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• College or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of QC or manufacturing quality experience, preferably within metal fabrication or welding industries.

Technical Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications in English.

• Familiarity with Australian or American welding standards (training support can be provided).

• Experience using mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).

• Understanding of manufacturing processes — especially sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, and plastic moulding.

• Familiarity with GD&T, surface treatment inspection, and basic testing methods (NDT, corrosion, coating thickness, etc.).

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Language Skills:

• Ability to read drawings, technical ducuments, and create QC reports in English.

• Candidates with conversational English skills will be considered highly favorable.

Location & Travel:

• Preferably based in Dong Nai or Binh Duong areas.(Closer to our partner factories)

• Must be willing to self-travel frequently to supplier factories (3-4 days per week onsite at factories) – Travel Benefits To Be Further Discussed in interview stage.
