Quality Control Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead our Vietnam Quality team. This position is based in Ho Chi Minh City and is pivotal in ensuring that our products meet the company’s global quality standards. The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee daily QC operations, manage a team of inspectors, and personally conduct quality inspections when required. This role also involves coordinating with suppliers and production teams to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Supervision: Supervise the Vietnam-based Quality Control team, including planning, task assignment, training, and performance evaluation.

• Inspection Management: Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans, sampling plans, and checklists according to company standards. Conduct on-site inspections when necessary during sample, pilot, and mass production stages. Review and validate inspection reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Quality Assurance: Monitor supplier quality performance, analyze non-conformities (NCRs), and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed. Manage and oversee the Certified Quality Supplier (CQS) program – this includes conducting supplier assessments and Certified Factory Auditor (CFA) evaluations, monitoring certification status, and ensuring ongoing compliance with program requirements.

• Auditing: Organize internal quality audits and assist in supplier quality audits when required. Ensure compliance with company procedures, relevant ISO 9001 standards, and customer specifications at all times.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Development, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve production process capability. Lead First Pass Yield and defect analysis activities, and recommend improvement actions when recurring issues are identified.

• Reporting and Metrics: Maintain and report key quality metrics, including defect rate, inspection pass rate, and corrective action closure rate. Prepare regular quality performance reports for management review.

• Additional Duties: Participate in supplier qualification and risk assessment reviews. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager, Regional Quality Head, or other supervisors.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Textile) or in Industrial Management, or another related technical field.

Language Skills

• Required: Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

• Preferred: Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is a significant advantage

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of quality control experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.

• Experience in industries such as consumer electronics, helmets, goggles, protective gear, apparel or footwear is highly preferred.

• Proven ability to manage on-site inspection teams and coordinate with cross-functional departments and suppliers.

• Experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) environment is an advantage.

• Solid knowledge of AQL sampling standards (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or ISO 2859-1) and familiarity with quality tools and methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Quality Management, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Yellow Belt), or related discipline.

• Experience in managing OEM/ODM suppliers or leading factory improvement projects.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, PDCA).

• Familiarity with environmental or product safety regulations (RoHS, REACH) is advantageous.

Additional Skills and Attributes

• Willingness to travel frequently to factory locations throughout Vietnam, and occasionally to other Southeast Asian countries.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or overtime as required by production schedules.

• Familiarity with electronic reporting systems and data entry processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as Power BI for data analysis and reporting.

• Basic understanding of quality management software and database systems is beneficial.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and product standards.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.

• A strong sense of responsibility and integrity, coupled with a hands-on leadership style.

• Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

• Analytical thinker with structured problem-solving capability and a continuous-improvement mindset.
