Quality Manager - Furniture

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for leading the entire quality assurance and control system in company, ensuring products meet high-end quality for export to the US. This role oversees strategic quality initiatives, compliance with international regulations, and cross-departmental collaboration to optimize quality, reduce defects, and enhance efficiency.. Description Quality system development & management * Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA/QC systems aligned with ISO 9001, FSC, ASTM, CARB, TSCA, and US export requirements. * Establish quality policies, procedures, and continuous improvement programs using tools like PDCA, Six Sigma, and Lean. * Oversee audits, certifications, and third-party inspections to ensure ongoing compliance. Team leadership & development * Lead and manage the QA/QC team, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development. * Provide training on quality standards, tools, and best practices to staff and cross-functional teams. * Foster a culture of quality excellence and accountability across the organization. Production oversight & issue resolution * Monitor quality throughout the production process, from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring adherence to specs, durability, and safety. * Analyze defects, root causes (using 5 Whys, Fishbone), and implement corrective/preventive actions to minimize rework and returns. * Coordinate with Production, Design, Sourcing, and Logistics to resolve quality issues and support new product launches. Supplier & customer collaboration * Evaluate and audit suppliers for material quality and sustainability; enforce corrective actions as needed. * Handle customer quality inquiries, audits, and feedback from US high-end clients; ensure timely resolutions. * Stay updated on US regulations and industry trends to adapt quality practices. Profile Education * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Quality Management), Materials Science, or related fields. Experience & technical skills * At least 10 years of experience in QA/QC, with 5+ years in leadership roles in the furniture or manufacturing industry, preferably with high-end experience. * Deep knowledge of quality standards, testing methods, and furniture materials/finishing. * Expertise in quality tools, root cause analysis, and audit processes. * Proven track record in reducing defects, achieving certifications, and managing cross-functional teams Soft skills * Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills for international stakeholders. * Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management abilities under pressure. * Proficiency in English for vendor and customer interactions.
