R&D Expert (Freelance Project-Based Personal Care)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize formulations for personal care products (e.g., shower gel, hand wash, body lotion, etc.) based on local production conditions, available ingredients, and current technologies.

• Provide technical expertise in ingredient selection, formulation adjustment, and product stability/shelf-life improvement.

• Work closely with the product development team to ensure formulation feasibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Coordinate with manufacturing partners to troubleshoot and resolve formula-related issues during production.

• Participate in product trials, evaluate texture, sensory attributes, and production efficiency to improve quality and cost performance.

• Conduct stability and safety testing for new formulations prior to market launch.

• Track project timelines, maintain development documentation, and report progress to management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related fields.

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Cosmetics R&D or Product Development.

• Solid understanding of the end-to-end product development cycle: idea → brief → sample → test → BOM → pilot → launch → post-launch.

• Hands-on experience working with OEM/ODM manufacturers is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of formulation, testing methods, and regulatory/quality standards.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

• Laboratory experience with strong sensory evaluation skills is a plus.
