Job description
JOB OBJECTIVES :
• The Regional Purchasing Lead is accountable for all purchasing-related tasks with reference to the direct material for the RRC production site in Vietnam.
• The jobholder is responsible to meet defined project requirements, to achieve purchasing targets for defined KPIs regarding material costs, quality, and availability and to continuously improve the local purchasing competence.
• The jobholder is furthermore determining the supplier selection, supplier awarding and supplier qualification process in close cooperation with the global purchasing team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The jobholder is mainly responsible for the tasks / work packages as follows:
1. Purchasing Tasks prior SOP:
• Coordination of all project-related purchasing tasks, especially to meet defined project targets regarding material costs, quality and availability under consideration of the requested level of maturity
• Attending the x-functional project team meeting sessions as purchasing representative
• Supplier selection and awarding in alignment with the global purchasing organization and all project stakeholders
• Launch mgmt. to secure a smooth SOP
• Initiating and mentoring of cost down projects
• Initiation of the escalation process, if targets are endangered
2. Purchasing Tasks after SOP:
• Local purchasing coordinator for relevant change requests
• Execution of benchmark inquiries and regular supplier negotiations
• Execution of supplier relocation projects for pre-defined materials
• Continuous development of the local purchasing organization
3. Miscellaneous:
• Global lead for a dedicated commodity (tbd.)
• Data input provision for the regular supplier assessment
• Operational order mgmt. for direct and indirect material (e.g. required as substitute from “Purchasing Specialist”)
Further tasks / work packages upon individual alignment.
Job requirements
EDUCATION:
• University graduate majoring in economics or technical studies, preferably in industrial engineering or electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification
EXPERIENCE:
• Sound professional experience in materials management (>3 years), ideally in purchasing of electronic components and/or as (sub-)project leader, well-grounded skills in x-functional project work
LANGUAGES:
• English – business fluent
IT SKILLS:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, especially MS Excel & PowerPoint)
• Candidates with experience in using SAP software are preferred
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Accomplished negotiator with high strategic and analytical skills
• Self-paced, assertive personality with high target-orientation and hands-on mentality
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to travel
