Secondary Math Teacher

EMASI Schools is seeking a Secondary Math Teacher for our Van Phuc campus. This position involves teaching an integrated Math curriculum, as well as the possibility of teaching Cambridge IGCSE, A Level Mathematics, and AP Calculus.

The role requires a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and the application of various mathematical techniques. Ideally suited for a Vietnamese educator, the teacher will adopt best practices in math pedagogy, including the use of manipulatives, modeling, problem-solving, math talk, collaborative learning, and complex math tasks.

The teacher will also foster strong mathematical reasoning, argumentation, and writing skills in students while ensuring a balance between conceptual understanding and procedural fluency. The successful candidate will also contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the EMASI integrated curriculum, which combines elements from the MOET and Cambridge Math curricula.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Embody and promote the school's desired characteristics in students, including respect, academic and personal excellence, and global understanding.

• Prepare and maintain syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and other instructional materials.

• Collaborate with school leadership, including the Managing Director, to develop and implement strategies that ensure all students achieve success.

• Uphold and enforce school-wide rules and expectations in the classroom and through effective lesson planning.

• Maintain strong, effective communication with students, families, and colleagues.

• Participate in the continuous improvement of research-based curricular frameworks, particularly focusing on the integrated MOET and Cambridge Math curricula.

• Uphold the school's culture of high academic and behavioral standards through continuous professional reflection.

• Analyze student performance data to refine and enhance teaching practices.

• Assist with student activities, including arrival, departure, transitions between classes, and lunch periods.

• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Mathematics or a related field.

• Master’s Degree preferred.

• Fluent in English.

Experience:

• Minimum three years of experience in teaching secondary mathematics, with expertise in delivering an integrated math curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, A Level Math, and AP Calculus.

• Demonstrated success in achieving significant, measurable student performance improvements.

• Ability to accommodate diverse learning abilities and styles.

• Prior experience with SAT teaching is beneficial.
