Senior Back-End Developer

Shinhan Securities is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer with at least 3 years of experience in building and maintaining back-end systems, specifically for stock trading platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, Pro*C, C++, and API development using REST and WebSocket. Additionally, expertise in caching mechanisms, message queuing systems like ZeroMQ, and developing gateway services using Node.js or Python is required. Basic English skills are sufficient, but a passion for working in a dynamic financial technology environment is essential.

• Design, Develop, and Maintain Back-End Systems: Build and optimize scalable backend services for a stock trading platform with a focus on high availability, performance, and fault tolerance.

• Develop and Manage APIs:

o Design and maintain APIs using REST and WebSocket protocols for handling real-time trading data and client interactions.

o Integrate back-end services with front-end applications and third-party systems.

• Database Management:

o Work with Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL to manage trading data, optimize performance, and ensure data integrity.

o Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and triggers for trading applications.

• Develop in C++ and Pro*C: Build and maintain critical components of the platform using

• Implement Caching and Message Queuing:

o Use caching mechanisms to improve performance in real-time trading environments.

o Implement message queuing systems such as ZeroMQ, Kafka, RedisCache, for fast and reliable communication between services.

• Build Gateway Services: Design and develop

• Ensure System Security and Compliance:

o Collaborate with the security team to ensure the platform meets industry security standards and regulations.

o Work closely with DevOps to ensure continuous deployment and reliability.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with front-end developers, product managers, and other back-end team members to ensure smooth integration and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience:

• At least 3+ years of back-end development experience, preferably in stock trading platforms or the financial services industry.

• Experience in high-performance systems that handle real-time data in trading environments.

• Technical Skills:

• Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL: Proficient in database design, querying, and performance tuning.

• Pro*C: Experience in database interaction using Pro*C for performance-critical tasks.

• C++: Strong programming experience in C++ for building reliable, scalable services.

• API Development: Hands-on experience in building and integrating RESTful APIs and WebSocket for real-time data communication.

• Caching Mechanisms: Knowledge of caching techniques (e.g., Redis, Memcached) for high-speed data retrieval.

• Message Queuing: Experience with ZeroMQ or similar message queuing systems for inter-service communication.

• Node.js/Python: Experience developing gateway services or microservices using Node.js or Python.

• System Architecture: Understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability in trading platforms.

• Communication: Basic proficiency in English is sufficient to collaborate with team members and document solutions.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Experience working with FIX protocol in trading environments.

• Experience with other message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Database: Experienced working with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).

• Trading Risk Management: Knowledgeable in trading risk management (risk checks, margin, and liquidation).

• AI Tools: Proficient in using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development.
