Senior Developer, Digital Platform Delivery (Java, SQL, Web Service, DevOps)

Job purpose:

- The Senior Developer is an experienced technical contributor responsible for executing end-to-end application development and supporting successful product delivery.

- This role requires solid technical expertise in application design and development practices, including mentoring junior developers on coding standards, participating in pair programming sessions for complex features, and assisting with onboarding new team members on application architecture and development processes to ensure consistent development quality and knowledge sharing.

Major accountabilities:

- Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications across frontend, backend, and database layers

- Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, scalable code, conduct code reviews, implement testing strategies, and ensure adherence to development standards

- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in agile processes, and provide technical expertise for project planning

- System Performance & Security: Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, implement optimizations, and maintain system security and reliability

- Innovation & Process Improvement: Research emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement in development processes and methodologies

Technical skills:

o Proficient and hands on with Spring boot deployment

o Strong knowledge of UI development (HTML5, ReactJS / Angular, Bootstrap)

o Strong knowledge of software development process, methodologies, test-driven development

o Strong knowledge in application architecture, design patterns

o Strong knowledge of ORM tool (Hibernate, JPA, ActiveMQ etc.)

o Strong knowledge of web services (Restful, JSON, Soap)

o Strong knowledge of NO SQL database and relation database, specifically SQL Server, PostgreSQL…

o Familiar with cloud solutions like AWS serverless (Step Functions, Lambda, Dynamo DB…)

Strong knowledge in DevOps tools and practices (source control e.g. Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins …)

Education and experience

• University or college degree in IT or equivalent

• At least 4 years’ experience of software development

• External – establishes and maintains working relationships with technology suppliers, outsourcing vendors. Develop industry-related professional contacts. Actively participates in industry-related seminars and workshop
