Senior Finishing Supervisor

Job Summary

The Senior Finishing Supervisor oversees daily operations in the finishing department to ensure fabric handfeel, shrinkage, GSM, width, appearance, and overall quality meet customer requirements. This position manages multiple finishing lines, provides technical troubleshooting, ensures proper machine settings, leads supervisors, and drives continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and safety.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily finishing production schedules according to the production plan.

• Ensure optimal machine utilization across stenters, compactors, dryers, brushing and shearing machines.

• Coordinate with knitting, dyeing and QA departments to maintain smooth operation flow.

• Ensure finishing chemicals, auxiliaries, and recipes are prepared correctly.

• Monitor finishing parameters such as temperature, speed, overfeed, width adjustment, moisture, and tension.

• Ensure fabric meets approved standards for:

o GSM

o Width

o Shrinkage

o Handfeel

o Surface appearance (smoothness, piling, brushing quality, etc.)

• Conduct in-process inspections and take immediate corrective actions when quality issues appear.

• Work closely with QA on defect analysis and root cause investigation.

• Supervise finishing supervisors and team leaders.

• Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with workplace safety and company regulations.

• Ensure proper manpower planning across all shifts.

• Monitor machine performance, efficiency, and downtime.

• Work closely with maintenance team to handle breakdowns and implement preventive maintenance.

• Ensure machines are calibrated regularly (temperature accuracy, width setting, moisture sensor, etc.).

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology or related field (preferred).

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in fabric finishing; at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

• Strong technical knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.

• Good problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and handle pressure.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S is a plus.
