Senior Hydraulic and Fire Protection Engineer (10–12 Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Hydraulic and Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and coordination of building services projects within our Vietnam office.

The successful candidate will work directly with COVA’s Australian project teams, taking technical leadership on projects across Australia, Asia, and Vietnam — including data centers, commercial buildings, healthcare, mixed-use developments, fit-out, and retail projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the hydraulic and fire protection design for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

• Prepare design drawings, hydraulic calculations, and system schematics for water supply, drainage, stormwater, fire hydrant, and sprinkler systems.

• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure fully integrated design solutions.

• Review and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters within the Vietnam and regional teams.

• Participate in design coordination meetings with Australian engineers and clients.

• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and respond to RFIs during construction.

• Ensure that all design deliverables meet COVA’s quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Mechanical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering.

• 10–12 years of experience in hydraulic and fire protection system design for building projects.

• Strong understanding of international and Vietnamese design standards, with preference for candidates familiar with Australian codes and NFPA standards.

• Proven ability to lead and mentor design teams, and to communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent English communication skills — written and spoken.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong in Revit skill; knowledge of hydraulic calculation software is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and leadership mindset.
