** POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Infrastructure specialist responsible for Design, Implement & Maintain WAN, LAN, VPN networks
Deploy, upgrade and manager Server Operating systems 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and responsible for contributing towards the global technology strategy of Intrepid Group and assisting in the management of the overall efficiency and process improvement of the global technology function as it grows, by providing best practice guidance & support and continuously developing and improving processes. The person will have to Develop and maintain product specifications of all platforms relating to System landscape and topology and responsible for design project plans and deploy implementations according to stipulated timelines delivering goals.
You will be part of the Colombo Technology Services department and will be reporting to Senior Manager – Technology in the Colombo office. As such, you will be given the opportunity to travel/work in the Sri Lanka office during some parts of the year (1-3 months period).
** ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MEASUREMENTS
- Operational:
• Provide and ensure maximum uptime for connectivity and all infrastructure elements including servers, communication devices & all Infrastructure devices
• Proactively identify and foresee infrastructure Gaps/Risks and escalate opinions and mitigations plans to resolve incidents, Problems, and ailments
• Provide seamless support for high priority incidents/escalations as and when required with diligence and persistence
• Ensure good governance and compliance is maintained thought in carrying out tasks
• Promptly escalate and noted breaches in security and governance
• Ensure all infrastructure platforms and equipment are covered under backup/restore mechanism and disaster recovery procedures and policies and failed services are resumed to normal within fair time
• Ensure and control organization wide software deployment plan
• Ensure network monitoring and alerting on identified critical services and equipment
• Handle planned/unplanned system outages according to best practices and procedures
- Technical:
• Designing, implement, manage & troubleshoot infrastructure including Azure, AWS, O365, SCCM, Carbon Black, New Relic, Rubric, Server2008/2012/2016/2019, TPLINK, DELL, Citrix, VMware, MSSQL, Fresh-Service, Unify Fortinet, JIRA, Unify, Aruba, Proofpoint and BI
• Consistently design and documents product specifications, procedure manuals and documentation for Infrastructure products, setups, and offerings
• Handle fully fledged CR mechanism for division by adhering to ITIL best practices
• Uplift, on-the-job knowledge transfer within the Team and prepare handle/succession planning on technical expertise and role mirroring
• Ensure documenting of Tacit knowledge transfer within the Team
- Supervisory:
• Provide Technical Team guidance, direction and mentoring for junior technical engineers and staff. Self-initiate and propose POC, remediation and mitigation plans for ailments and issue
• Proactively recommend and advice Team on ongoing technology trends and gaps to ensure alignment of Team goals in the wider Team
- Project management:
• Design, develop and manage project plans for all infra projects
• Ensure deliverables/millstones are met as per stipulated timelines
• Follow assigned/agreed priorities for all projects and tasks till successful completion
- Organizational:
• Align infrastructure solutions to cater to changing needs of the business
• Consider the big picture and ensure Infra solutions provided align with Infrastructure roadmap, organizational goals and business objectives
• Work with departments leaders in creating a transparent and positive atmosphere and friendly culture
- Innovation:
• Perform R&D. Innovate and think out of the box to deliver workarounds, fixes for ongoing solutions, problems, ailments, and new concepts

** QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
• Product certifications related to Infrastructure
• 5+ years hands on experience in Designing, deploying, and managing enterprise systems and infrastructure
• Strong understanding and hands on experience in systems infrastructure
• Experience and Knowledge in cloud platforms
• Hands on experience in handling complex projects.
• Experience in Microsoft 365, AD-Connect, SharePoint, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Azure Ad, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint,)
• Experience in managing Small technical Teams
• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Experience in Project Management tools usage (Ex: JIRA, ASANA, TRELLO)
• Experience organization wide patch management
• Training Certifications by Vendors (Azure, AWS, Aruba, Cisco, Fortinet, Redhat, Proofpoint)
** OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive experience in Windows Server 2008,2012,2016,2019
• Extensive experience in Automated windows server Patch management and Device firmware management
• Hands on experience in Network LAN/WAN communication, VPN, FW and UTM (Forti, Checkpoint, CISCO, Watchguard preferred)
• Hands on Experience is multiple virtualization platforms (CITRIX and VMWARE)
• Top of the range analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands on experience in deploying enterprise level infrastructure projects.
• Well experienced in handling cyber-attacks and intrusion attempts and endpoint Security (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint preferred)
• Street smart with a can-do attitude
• Hands on Experience in Azure/AWS
• Hands on experience in Linux Administration/Management
• Hands on experience on Network Monitoring (Nagios, ManageEngine, Datadog, New Relic, Cacti)
• Good time management and task prioritization skills
