Position title: Senior IT Officer
Reports to: IT Manager
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Date: Dec 2022

I. Background
WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Vietnam. I. Major Functions:
The Senior IT Officer is responsible to manage the office, functions, and deliverables under the area of Information and Communications Technology (ITC), in line with the aims and objectives of the IT function and provide strategic support to the IT Manager.

II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, printers (copier & scanner) and telephony incidents & requests, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of applications some bespoke; user support for standard software packages and bespoke systems; computerized Helpdesk facility and management of the problem from inception to a conclusion.
• Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement permanent fixes as soon as possible; accurately escalating incidents and requests when necessary.
• Accurately recording, updating, and documenting requests using the IT service helpdesk system, implementing installation and configuration of new IT equipment; regularly monitoring and reporting about the IT network/system/services and communications system.
• Maintain a first-class level of IT service ensuring that all staff are treated efficiently and appropriately, and excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization; Create, maintain, and publish relevant support documentation to assist all staff in quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more self-sufficient.
• Work under minimal direction and where appropriate provide direction to junior members of the team and to be a highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Communicating and liaising with staff on IT needs and reporting them back to the IT Manager and team.
• Provides orientation and reorientation, training to all staff to help them understand the IT systems, policies, and procedures of the organization and to ensure the most effective use of computer systems; inputs to the identification of training needs on IT for all staff and delivers training when required.
• Ensure all network security systems is under well supervision including and not limited to office camera security system and all computer clients, and ensure all technical resources are available for meetings that include video conferencing.
• Proactively monitor and recommend changes to improve processes and policies, bringing new ideas and solutions to improve IT services to the organization; Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software used in the company’s computer systems.
• Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organizational needs.

III. Profile
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent qualification background.
• At least 5 years of relevant technical and business work experience.
• In-depth experience in Windows; Microsoft products; Cloud-computing, Internet and Administering multi- serve multi- protocol (TCP/ IP & IPX); Windows Server, local and wide area networking.
• Database management systems (such as MSSQL, MYSQL)
• Managing a virtual server environment and Data backup and replication systems.
• Work experience in a big international development organization is an advantage
• Having CCNA and Microsoft Certificate is an advantage.
Desirable
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration & Microsoft Add-in
• Experience in the development and implementation of IT projects.
• Knowledge of open-source applications and operating systems including Linux.
• Knowledge of Voice over IP technologies and video conference.
• Experience of project development and implementation.
Required skills and Competencies
• Written and verbal communication in English; Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of complex hardware and software products and problem solving/ diagnostic skills.
• Good planning, organization, time management, facilitation and coordination skills, Ability to write up policies and guidelines.
• Be able to work under pressure, towards tight deadline, and overtime if required and work on own initiative with minimum supervision and staying on task.
• Ability to train other staff & willing to learn new skills as required to support new technologies.

IV. Working Relationships
Internal
• Works closely with the IT Manager, Interacts on a regular basis with all staff of WWF-Viet Nam
• Working closely with Asian Pacific IT team (AP-IT) for learning and sharing the new technology and strategies
External
• Interacts regularly with suppliers, computer companies, service providers
• Engages with other organizations on IT systems and practices for learning and sharing
