Senior Knitting Supervisor

Job Summary

The Senior Knitting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing overall knitting operations, ensuring production efficiency, fabric quality, machine performance, and workforce capability meet company standards. This role provides advanced technical support, and plays a key role in optimizing knitting processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly knitting production planning to meet delivery schedules.

• Monitor production progress and adjust manpower or machine allocation when needed.

• Coordinate closely with Production Planning, QA, Maintenance, and Dyeing departments to ensure smooth material availability.

• Ensure all raw materials (yarn, needles, spare parts) are well prepared and controlled to reduce waste.

• Oversee fabric quality, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective/preventive actions.

• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP), quality checkpoints, and machine setting standards.

• Work with QA, R&D, and customers (if needed) on new fabric development or technical changes.

• Supervise and guide knitting supervisors and technicians.

• Conduct training programs to improve operator skills, machine handling, and problem-solving capability.

• Lead shift meetings, performance reviews, and discipline management.

• Build a strong team culture focusing on productivity, quality, and safety.

• Diploma or above in Textile Technology, Production, or related fields (preferred).

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in knitting production; at least 2+ years in a supervisory/senior role.

• Strong technical knowledge of knitting structures, yarn behavior, and machine mechanics.

• Strong leadership and team development abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, especially for complex fabric or machine issues.

• Good communication and coordination across departments.

• Familiar with production planning, efficiency management, and quality systems.

• Computer skills (Excel, SAP systems).

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S is a plus.
