Senior Manager, Business Quality

PURPOSE:

1. To drive a proactive risk culture at the first line.

2. To enhance risk awareness and control execution at the first line.

3. To ensure consistent understanding: (i) ownership of risk matters remain at the first line; and (ii) second line is provided with data and reports for analysis and independent reviews.

4. Embedded analytic at back end and proactive oversight without duplicating the second line role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct business quality assurance and risk assessment for distribution channel including reviewing new acquisition/monitoring progress execution, monitoring contest and business-related activities

• Co-ordinate for distribution disciplinary actions

• To align/coordinate between the first line and the second line in implementing policies.

• To develop and implement risk management tools (e.g. dashboards, KRIs, checklist), making it simple for implementation at first line; To ensure tools and processes meet organisational standards.

• To establish clear escalation protocols for risk issues to the second line, identify emerging distribution risks and ensure timely responses to identified risks.

• Be main contact point for Governance, Risk, Audit, Regulator and respond to compliance and audit findings and assist in the remediation plans and ensure timely closure of findings.

• To provide appropriate trainings for first line staff, promote risk awareness through training, workshops, communications and leadership engagement.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

1. Effective processes to self assess, identify, address and mitigate risks.

2. Simplified risk tools for monitoring at daily operations and timely reports e.g. dashboards, checklist.

3. Embedded controls with technology: automated workflow, system automation alerts for early warning and escalation. Monitor KRIs in real time.

4. Train first line on risk identification and controls.

5. Improvement in risk culture.

6. Less incident report.

7. Business quality assurance to be compliant with business conduct

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

1. BA in business, finance, risk management or related fields, with insurance industry experience is preferred.

2. Familiar with three lines of defense model and able to assist the 1st line to develop procedures, guidelines in business quality control.

3. Ability to translate complex risks into practical terms for non-specialists.

4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across levels.

5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with experience in designing and tracking risk metrics is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Fluent 4 skills (speak, write, read, listen) English.

• Excellent in excel, power point presentation, and report preparation skill.
