Senior Production Engineering Manager (Garment, Textile, Footwear)

We are a British-owned company that mainly manufactures toys in Asia and are looking for someone based in Vietnam with a background in manufacturing (toys experience a bonus). We seek a highly skilled, dynamic, and detail-oriented Senior Production Engineer Manager to lead production excellence at the country level, combining deep engineering and manufacturing expertise with a passion for quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong communication skills to engage with global teams and local vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support vendor factories in the implementation and improvement of production processes focused on quality, productivity to meet company objectives

• Analyze production data and quality figures to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Compliance, Production Planning, Product Development to ensure alignment with company standards.

• Drive the development and documentation of production workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in factories, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.

• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, or other relevant methodologies.

• Serve as the communication bridge between the global teams and local factories, ensuring clarity on production goals, timelines, and quality requirements.

• Support vendor readiness and capability development through training and coaching on production best practices. Monitor and evaluate factory performance regularly, preparing reports and recommendations for management.

• Collaborating with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure the smooth movement of materials and finished goods.

• Demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple countries as the role evolves.

• From 10 years of experience in Production Engineering Manager, proven industrial or production engineering manager background with strong factory and manufacturing operations experience, ideally in garments, textile, footwear or soft toys.

• Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process optimization, and KPI-driven performance management.

• Demonstrated success in leading continuous improvement programs and automation technology deployment.

• Experience managing factory relationships and capacity planning at a regional or multi-country level is highly desirable.

• Exceptional communication skills in English, able to engage effectively with global and local stakeholders.

• Agile, detail-oriented, and hungry for impact, with a data-driven mindset and passion for productivity and quality.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

• Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance related to baby product safety is a plus.
