Senior Vietnamese Lawyer

We are currently looking for highly skilled and motivated senior Vietnamese lawyers with the following key skills and responsibilities:

Key professional skills:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of advising clients on complex foreign investment matters in Vietnam, specifically in the areas of:

 Corporate Law (Vietnamese Enterprise & Investment Regulations);

 Regulatory & Compliance

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advisory services to the firm’s international clients at the highest level of quality and effectiveness.

- Advise clients on all fields of law that are relevant to foreign invested entities and their op-erations in Vietnam.

- Liaise with relevant authorities for licensing and trouble-shooting purposes, communicate with clients, suppliers, etc. when necessary and as mandated by clients;

- Manage legal (and tax) projects for Luther’s clients independently;

- Lead varying teams of junior to mid-level lawyers (and tax advisors) to professional excel-lence;

- Supervise other team members during the implementation of advisory/project work;

- Perform other legal and management tasks as assigned by the Vietnam office Country Head.

- Train junior lawyers in practical and theoretical aspects of transactional and advisory work;

- Control the output quality of legal advice and other work products of the firm;

- Develop the firm’s business and professional practice by representing Luther Vietnam as a senior legal professional in the market (Business Development & Acquisition).

We are looking for a Vietnamese-qualified senior lawyer with a minimum of 12-15 years of post-qualification work experience (PQE) preferably gained in an international work environment (in-ternational law firm experience is preferred).

The following requirements are mandatory:

- Certified graduate from a renowned Vietnamese university working for a private law practice in Vietnam;

- Vietnam-qualified lawyer certificate/bar admission (additional offshore bar admission in a foreign jurisdiction would be an asset).

- Proven knowledge and experience working on complex legal cross-border matters.

- Exceptional skills (oral and written) in English and Vietnamese (additional language proficiency in other foreign languages will be considered an asset).

- Unwavering team spirit, providing strong guidance to colleagues in all advice to clients;

- Professionalism, confidence, dedication, integrity and trustworthiness;

- Ability to manage and lead other team members/junior lawyers in assigned projects;

- Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural team that expands across various jurisdictions;

- Self-starter attitude, high sense of responsibility and ownership in all (internal and external) matters;

- Ability to multitask under high pressure, to complete assignments within time con-straints and deadlines;

- Long-term commitment to the firm and its clients.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of in-depth experience in the following fields of business law:

o Foreign investment law/enterprise law (focus on Vietnam FDI),

o Mergers & Acquisitions;

o Enterprise and commercial law,

o Labor law,

o Real estate, construction, and land rights,

o Licensing procedures for enterprise establishment in Vietnam,

o International arbitration and litigation,

o Intellectual property rights and trademark law,

o Tax and customs regulations,

o Import/export procedures,

o Competition and anti-trust law,

o PPP law,

o Environmental law,

o etc.
