SIL Manufacturing Engineer

General Description/Purpose:

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Manufacturing Engineer does this by assisting in the design and development of processes to manufacture furniture. The Manufacturing Engineer also ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel and tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work with the engineering team at Stickley headquarters to create manufacturing routings/Process steps for the plant in Vietnam.

2. Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

3. Ensure cost effective manufacturing through early development of all essential figures and of fixtures, processes, tooling, etc.

4. Utilizes blueprints and technical/engineered drawings.

5. Stays up to date with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials.

6. Works independently and displays a professional attitude and represent the company with integrity and professionalism.

1. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently

2. Must have good oral and written English language skills, ability to collaborate well with others

3. Self-motivated/ self-directed

4. Excellent problem-solving skills

5. Willingness to challenge the status quo

6. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office, AutoCAD and 3D solid modeling preferred.

7. Woodworking industry experience preferred but not essential.
