Specialist, Tooling Engineer

Main purpose of the role:

We are seeking 2 headcounts for Specialist, Tooling Engineer, each focusing on one of the following functional areas:

• Specialist, Tooling Engineer (Automation): Responsible for designing, fabricating, and scheduling tools, jigs, and fixtures with a strong emphasis on robotic development and automation. This role supports all stages from development through to mass production, ensuring tools meet functional requirements. The Automation Specialist will also prepare and provide technical drawings for documentation and registration purposes.

• Specialist, Tooling Engineer (Mechanical): Focused on the mechanical aspects of tool, jig, and fixture design, fabrication, and scheduling to meet project needs from the development phase to mass production. The Mechanical Specialist is also responsible for generating and submitting technical drawings for documentation and registration.

Key accountabilities:

Tools, Jig & fixture, Mechanical skills

• Participate in conceptual and tool design review.

• Participate in tool fabrication and revising to meet target in both quality and safety.

• Initiate and provide a support to those improvement projects for tool and jigs and fixtures design per assigned.

• Hand-on skill of designing semi-automatic/ automatic tool, jig, fixture, machine.

Machine operating and Software operating

• Keep updating technical and tooling design knowledge in a Design Software to ensure data are storage properly and safely, for future use as reference.

• Keep the workplaces and machine and equipment in good function order to consistently meet safety requirements.

For automation:

• Proficiently programming PLC, robot arm.

For mechanical:

• Hand-on experience of operating CNC Machines, WEDM, EDM machines proficiently.

• Hand-on experience to program CAM software proficiently.

Collaboration:

• Support requester in providing comments and suggestions so that the system and tool design can be improved.

• Fulfilled additional responsibilities and take on accountability as specified or assigned, including cooperatively.

Documentation:

• Ensure quality and accuracy of drawing within provided lead times.

• Organizes and maintain a backup system of all existing drawings.

Qualifications & Experience:

1- For automation:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in production or process engineer.

- Hand-on experienced on PLC programming (TIA Portal of Siemens or GS-Work of Mitsubishi or Beckhoff)

- Hand-on experienced on Robot Arm programming (Robotstudia of ABB, or Kuka)

- Hand-on experienced on Hardware Configuration and Industrial Communication Configuration (Mod-bus, enthernet, …)

- Effective communication and leadership skills.

- Programming of Python or C

- Having knowledge of tools and jigs and fixtures in manufacturing process.

2- For mechanical:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in production or process engineer.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Progressive Die development.

- Hand-on of experienced on tool, jig and fixture design.

- Hand-on of experienced on tooling machines, CNC machines operation.

- Effective communication and leadership skills.

- CAD/CAM such as Solidwork, ZW3D, Auto CAD, PowerMill

- Having knowledge of tools and jigs and fixtures in manufacturing process.

English fluency is a must
