The Sustainability & Climate Sr. Specialist will support the implementation of CSC’s sustainable manufacturing and climate programs for Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply chain partners. These programs are critical in helping the organization achieve progress on CSC key priorities: 1) climate action and water savings; 2) measuring and assessing risk; 3) environmental performance improvement and 4) strategic sourcing and decision making.
The Sustainability & Climate Sr. Specialist will report to the Sustainable Manufacturing Manager and help to execute CSC’s Sustainability vision and short/long-range climate goals with supply chain partners. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills as the role will focus on data collection and analysis, data systems evaluation, project management, and broad support to advance environmental supply chain sustainability initiatives.
The specialist will also work with CSC’s manufacturing partners to manage CSC’s Climate Targets initiative to reduce emissions by 30% by 2030. This role requires technical knowledge around environmental impacts at a factory level and experience working directly on factory capacity building programs.
Being part a global, agile team will require a results-oriented individual with a self-starter attitude, while at the same time balancing the ability to remain flexible and pivot quickly. Based in Vietnam (Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh), the Sr. Specialist will work closely with the Sustainable Manufacturing Project Manager based in Taiwan, CSC’s supply chain partners and liaison office teams.
The Sustainability & Climate Specialist will help implement, achieve, refine, and report on CSC’s Climate Targets program, supply chain goals including Scope 3 emissions goals, targets and reduction, and broader environmental program evolution
Working with the Sustainable Manufacturing Project Manager, support the annual roll out of the Higg FEM assessment/verification cadence and Climate Progress Report, including managing timelines, communication needs, training approach, data analysis, internal training and reporting
Responsible for important data analysis, collection, substantiation, and assurance, as well as research, materials, and coordination for significant cross-functional work
Manage environmental sustainability performance of Tier 2 factories through the Higg FEM and Climate Progress Reporting tool
Guides factories in developing and implementing action plans with manufacturing through programs such as Clean by Design and Foundation Environmental Performance
Engages with CR and Manufacturing teams in Asia to collect and track KPIs and provide updates on vendor performance
Strong contributor to the development of strategic partnerships and programs that enable CSC to reduce environmental impacts in the supply chain and build capacity.
Research and stay abreast of current global supply chain sustainability trends, innovations, NGOs and ESG requirements
Build relationships with peers in the industry as well as with relevant key external stakeholders
Represent CSC in relevant industry collaboration and workgroups to support industry standardization, develop best practices and represent CSC interests

5-8 years experience in a supply chain sustainability or corporate responsibility role. Experience working in environmental engineering or third-party environmental consulting will also be considered.
Vietnamese language proficiency and intermediate English language skills
Familiarity with the Higg Index Facility Environmental Module (FEM) and Power BI, the landscape of renewable energy and energy procurement mechanisms, regulations shaping the global renewable energy landscape, and carbon accounting principles and standards.
Possesses strong data analysis and visualization skills in Excel and Power BI
Flexible approach and self-starter mindset, a “builder”, comfortable with bringing clarity to ambiguous situations and proposing solutions to complex challenges
Flexible ability to shift between different projects and meet challenging deadlines, connect with internal and external stakeholders, and understanding of ESG risk analysis
Adept cross-functional team member, able to navigate a complex organization to develop consensus and drive results
Has high levels of emotional intelligence
Experience working in a global business environment
Supervisory Responsibility:
No supervisory responsibilities within CSC.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Engineering, Material Science, Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
Experience:
Requires 5 to 8 years of experience working in a supply chain compliance, sustainability or third party consultant role with exposure to global apparel and/or footwear functions such as product design, merchandising, manufacturing or materials. Experience working in, or with, factories in the apparel and/or footwear industry preferred but not required.
Travel and Schedule Requirements:
Ability to travel 10-45% of the time domestically and internationally
Ability to work a flexible schedule due to travel including overnights and weekends
