System Engineer

We are a leading development and production partner for industrial components (e.g. sealing and sensors, etc.) for over 100 years and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. As a globally active product and materials specialist, we are serving customers - particularly in Europe, the USA, and Asia. We develop and manufacture customized and innovative product solutions together with our customers.

As a System Engineer, you will be pivotal in guiding internal stakeholders and will be responsible for the implementation and support of solutions within our server, network, and client infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include:

JOB DESCRIPTION

• 2nd and 3rd level support for more complex problems that the ServiceDesk cannot handle

• Proactively exploring and testing new systems and technologies to enhance our operational capabilities.

• Monitoring and maintaining a variety of existing systems while ensuring robust communication with our infrastructure providers.

• Continuously optimizing and adapting IT services across the infrastructure spectrum, from design to deployment.

• Managing and developing technical documentation and conceptual frameworks.

• Regularly monitoring and enhancing the delivery of services with a focus on quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.

• Familiarize and engage with our technology stack, which includes Windows Server 2016 & 2019, 2022, CITRIX, MS SQL & Oracle databases, Microsoft 365, HP Endpoints, Windows 10/11 clients

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, Intune, and AWS is advantageous

• Security: Tasks relating to the analysis and development of security policies and monitoring of Microsoft Defender

• A minimum of three years of professional experience in System Engineering.

• Proficient with Microsoft Server and Client environments.

• Highly skilled in managing Active Directory and Group Policy.

• Extensive experience in network maintenance and the configuration of active network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Well-versed in virtualization technologies.

• Extensive experience in PowerShell scripting and process automation.

• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure and Identity management is must.

• Experience in industrial environments is highly desirable.

• Security knowledge and an important addition.

• Possess a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.

• Highly self-motivated, well-organized, and solution-oriented with excellent communication skills.

• High level of process documentation skills.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
