Job Description

The Technical Sales Management department is the regional arm of our global Technical Sales Organisation, which links our Business Unit and our customer needs towards the central Power Solutions Team, responsible for the global Product Development in Vestas. The Lead Technical Bid Engineer role within Technical Sales Management is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills as well as a solid commercial mindset. You will work with our commercial Sales presence, our customers, and central engineering functions that require communication and interfacing skills to encourage growth in the Asia Pacific by ensuring the best possible technical solution for our customers.

VPS Region ASP Technical Sales Management ASP Technical Bid Management -Asia/Japan

- Ensure timely and correct responses to customer inquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, and supervise technical negotiations - together with the Sales project team and customers
- Full responsibility for the technical solution during the sales phase. You will be the link between the Sales organization and VPS (Vestas Power Solutions) on your respective project(s) and topics
- Effectively improve the technical value engineering of customer projects and guide technical negotiations as a focused member of the Sales project team
- Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, as well as technical annexes and contract schedules
- You will need to network to build relationships with the key technical stakeholders in your customers' organizations, promoting their requirements inside Vestas and ensuring a winning technical value proposition
- Understanding of the market, customer business cases and sales' perspective in general; track of the local rules and legislation and participate in working groups where required

Job Requirements

- Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or similar) combined with commercial insight/interest or commercial background
- Experience in global technical scoping and clarifications, developing technical value propositions and handling technical risk, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar
- Previous experience in wind energy or industrial plant environment would be beneficial
- Fluency in business English both spoken and written would be essential

- Solid communication skills and prior experience interacting with a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders
- Organized and collaborative with proven experience working in innovative and high-pressure tendering environments
- Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building a technical value proposition and seeking out value optimization opportunities
- High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually
- Professional presentation skills with the ability to present to customers
