Technical Manager - Blow Mold

JOB SUMMARY The Blow Mold Technical Manager is a key member of the Technical Management team. The key responsibilities include efficient operation of all Blow Mold equipment, efficient execution of Blow Mold related projects, efficient training of the Blow Mold Supervisor and operators on operational aspects of the Blow Mold and setting up systems that delivers a consistent quality product every time, do preventative maintenance or repair machines. Key metrics are machine utilization, machine uptime, material utilization, labor hour reduction, and delivering a consistent quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain, drive, supervisor and implement blow mold standards, system, and processes. 2. Experience with blow mold design such as the pinching edge of the parts and how to minimize stress in removing, knowledge of post processing items such as cooling, monitoring to ensure machines are running as fast as they can while maintaining a good quality part, ect… 3. Experience with mold structure to control the wall thickness of part. 4. Ability to run machinery, perform standard troubleshooting, complete any and all adjustments or repairs on machinery. 5. Experience with accumulator head style blow molding in parts like Ashley which may be molded tanks, figurines, durable good containers, automotive type or ATV/UTV parts. 6. Experience with head tooling adjustments and tuning in blow molding. i.e. validation of tooling to get material to the correct areas. 7. Complete preventative maintenance requirements for mold and machines. 8. Complete quality control checks and help to maintain customer’s requirements (Adjusting heats, parison adjustments, air pressure adjustments, machine adjustments to the molds, cooling adjustments/dwell time, consistent resin flow …). 9. Knowledge on raw blow mold material and specs to create the cost-effective innovative or solution. 10. Must meet all required safety processes and procedures and make sure all safety devices are on equipment. 11. Responsible for the training and performance management of team members to ensure that each line is staffed with qualified and motivated individuals. 12. Utilize theory of constraints or lean manufacturing techniques to drive operation excellence (evaluate and manage counts, machine speeds, scrap, and downtime to drive reliability to desired levels). 13. Communicate with stack-holder for the sharing and improving. 14. Other tasks are assigned by the direct manager. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY The position is responsible for Blow mold product development, machine operation expert and excellent operation in Production. Supervise and communicate troubleshooting to improve the quality and efficiency of the blow mold system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) Experience, Skills, and Abilities 5 to 8 years of related experience in a plastics manufacturing environment Knowledge and experience on the Mold Manufacturing end from machining functions through full assembly. 5+ years’ experience in Blow Mold Design, Machinery and Operational Expert with aluminum-bodied molds with complex cores and inserts Must be able to identify and understand the function of all standard mold components, expert on machine operation, trouble shooting and operational excellence. Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure the engineering files are managed to the latest levels. Ability to learn new technology. Some processing experience is desired to help bridge gaps between part/tool design and processing. Self-directed - operates with little or no direction. Mold-flow experience is a plus.
