Technology Manager

Job Overview

The Technology Manager at Dwight School Hanoi leads the planning, implementation, and management of the school's technology infrastructure and strategy. Reporting to the Director of Technology & Innovative Learning, the role includes managing the Tech budget, supervising Tech staff, ensuring cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, and overseeing IT systems and support operations. The Technology Manager collaborates with all departments to integrate technologies that enhance education and administration. Fluency in Vietnamese and English; strong technical, interpersonal, and project management skills; and an ability to clearly communicate technical concepts are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing the Tech strategy to support the educational and administrative functions of the school.

• Leading the Tech department, including hiring, training, and managing Tech staff.

• Managing the Tech department budget, overseeing inventory tracking and hardware and software deployment, and supporting the school's BYOD program.

• Ensuring compliance with data protection laws and other regulatory requirements, which includes oversight of the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity protocols, threat detection, data backup systems, and disaster recovery planning.

• Serving as the primary liaison between the Tech department and other departments, as well as with external vendors and stakeholders.

• Overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of the school’s technology infrastructure, including servers, Wi-Fi networks, and cloud-based services.

• Supervising the helpdesk operations to provide timely and effective technical support for the school community.

• Supporting the maintenance of core software platforms, including Google Workspace, Toddle LMS, Veracross SIS, and other educational/administrative tools.

• Collaborating on long-term planning to integrate emerging technologies that enhance teaching, learning, and school operations.

• Assist with technology tasks related to MOET/DOET compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

N.B.: These key responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive. The Technology Manager may be required to perform other related duties assigned by their manager to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Information Technology/Computer Science or related field

• At least four years of experience working in an equivalent position

• Fluent in written and spoken Vietnamese and English

• High level of ICT skills and understanding of ICT infrastructure and networks

• Strong organizational and project management skills

• Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

• A commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with emerging technologies

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Flexible and agile working style suitable for a greenfield school’s operations

• Strong drive for organizational improvements

• Problem-solving abilities

• Project management skills (especially when rolling out new systems)
