About This Role

As a Timber Structural Designer, you will be responsible for creating and refining technical drawings for wall, floor, and roof framing systems (trusses & frames) using specialized design software in accordance with company and Australian standards. You will work independently or under minimal supervision from senior designers or team leaders to ensure the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of all design outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and review building and structural plans accurately for timber framing projects.

• Create, modify, and check design drawings for timber walls, floors, and roofs according to Australian standards and company procedures.

• Extract relevant technical details from architectural and engineering documents to prepare complete and accurate design drawings.

• Perform wall and posi detailing tasks with a focus on precision, efficiency, and manufacturability.

• Identify and correct design errors or inconsistencies independently or under minimal supervision.

• Communicate effectively with senior designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure correct understanding of project requirements.

• Collaborate with teammates and support cross-functional coordination between the design and production teams.

• Participate in project review meetings and provide feedback to improve overall design quality.

• Maintain and update design documentation according to company standards.

• Manage workload to meet project timelines and quality expectations.

• Continue improving English communication and technical knowledge related to timber truss & frame design.

• Carry out other technical or training tasks assigned based on skills and growth potential.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in timber structural design or detailing.

• Experience working with Australian clients or projects is highly preferred.

• Proven knowledge of wall and posi detailing.

• Strong understanding of architectural and structural drawings.

• Familiarity with timber truss & frame software (e.g., MiTek, Pryda, Multinail) is an advantage.

• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).

• Logical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive learning attitude.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
