Reporting directly to: Arabica Trader
Matrix to: Sustainability Manager
Location: Lâm Hà, Lâm Đồng
Overall functional responsibility:
This position involves the basic aspects of trading and sustainability with an average time split ratio of 50:50 between the functions focused on assisting the Arabica Trader in day-to-day trading activities and facilitate all activities related to Arabica sustainability strategy.
Key areas of responsibility:
Trading:
1) Learn the Arabica supply chain activities, quality basics, LDC’s internal procedures etc.
2) Assist the Arabica trader in creating, executing purchase and sale contracts in the contract management system
3) Coordinate with the other departments to ensure smooth and accurate information flow related to purchases, sales, and payment process
4) Collect and report daily local market information
5) Maintain and develop the existing supplier relationships as well as new suppliers to source coffee
6) Assist the arabica trader in studying the local roasting industry demands and identify potential clients where trade opportunities exist
7) Analysis of exports and other trade data on periodic basis
Sustainability:
1) Implement the Arabica sustainability strategy (Responsible Sourcing and Stronger Coffee Initiative) as per the business plan defined and agreed by the national sustainability manager and the Arabica commercial lead in Vietnam. Coordinate and verified/certified supply chains in the field
2) Be the reference expert for field technicians regarding best practices in the development of sustainable coffee chains
3) Coordinate, implement internal inspections and external audits for certification/verification programs
4) Lead and implement trainings on good agricultural practices to ensure the compliance of the supply chain(s) to the designated certification/verification standard(s)
5) Coordinate the implementation of project activities within Arabica supply chains
6) Collect, collate, and report regularly to the national sustainability manager and the Arabica trader the achievements related to the Arabica sustainability strategy
7) Conduct, take part in crop tours for arabica coffee in the north and central highlands regions, provide regular update on crop development, weather, pest and diseases, gross-margin analysis etc.
8) Ensure all activities comply with relevant Group Code of Conducts, legal demands, and ethical standards

Qualifications and experience:
• Graduate in Agriculture Science or agriculture economics
• Minimum 1-2 years agronomy or sustainability program in agriculture industry (coffee preferred) experiences.
• Good analytical, advanced excel and report writing skills.
• Ability to think analytically, detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills
• Strong team player
• Good in communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to work independently.
