Position Context

Partner with Production, Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain and other functional areas. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the position is accountable for overseeing production planning and management activities within the organization to achieve high quality and high production targets.

Position

The Production Planning Manager is expected to be a highly organized, self-starter with excellent work-ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This individual has an excellent understanding of the full production process and will lead all activities related to the successful execution of electric vehicle manufacturing, production orders, and department management. This includes scheduling, production capacity and planning, personnel management, raw material, and packaging purchases, as well as profitability by reducing cost. Monthly reviews will include goal setting, progress reports, challenges, staff review, and process strategy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule production orders for the whole manufacturing complex.

• Display working knowledge of production trials and operation planning process.

• Provide proactive communication of project status, budget, issues and risks to internal and external customers.

• Ensure all productions are delivered on time.

• Track and consolidate key metrics, identify trends, propose corrective actions to protect the production plan.

• Direct the procurement of raw materials and packaging with vendors; maintain inventory of all materials.

• Develop a positive, proactive work environment which empowers staff and promotes safety, teamwork, trust and quality.

• Lead staff training / cross training to increase departmental efficiencies and continuous improvement.

• Ensure adherence to departmental SOPs.

• Maintains "World Class" level of production.

1) Education/ Professional knowledge:

• Education: BS Degree in Logistics, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field is preferred and/or 8 to 10 years of experience in a production planning setting.

• Automotive industry knowledge or automotive mechanical knowledge is essential.

2) Skill, Experience:

• Knowledge of production processes and quality control

• Strong at Math and analytical skills

• Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software

• Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.

• Excellent negotiating and communication skills.

• Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership qualities and be a motivator of people.

• Must be able to interact effectively within the organization

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
